Session Overview
This session launches the ELAC year with warmth, connection, and purpose. Families begin by centering on what matters most—their children’s success—and reflecting on the hopes and dreams they hold for their future. They explore what ELAC is, how it supports multilingual learners, and how every family voice helps shape school decisions.
The session affirms that language is a strength—and that speaking more than one language is something to value and celebrate. Families learn about their child’s multilingual learner journey, from enrollment to reclassification, to earning their State Seal of Biliteracy in high school.
This session invites families to see the connection between their dreams for their children and their role in ELAC. It fosters a sense of belonging, connection, and shared purpose—where voices are valued, experiences are honored, and relationships are built. Families leave with a preview of the meaningful work ahead and a deeper understanding that all voices are needed—to create a more inclusive, connected school community where every child, including their own, can thrive.
